Aircraft Brakes:

The CirCal pressure plate design enables multiple rotor & stator "heat stack" brakes with fewer actuators (hydraulic or electric), less weight, reduced complexity and lower system cost.

  • Lighter, simpler, more fail-safe pressure plate mechanism, fewer actuators and wear adjusters, reduced manufacturing and maintenance costs.

  • Actuators are isolated from direct heat and may be separate from the pressure plate for reduced manufacturing, replacement and maintenance costs.

  • The CirCal pressure plate system is suitable for retrofit conversion, and is compatible with existing torque tube, heat stack and wheel designs.

Three electric actuators are illustrated. Although a single actuator can actuate the brake, additional units may be employed for  redundancy, fail-safe functionality or for applying higher forces.
